Enersis (“Enersis)” is a fully-integrated renewable energy company whose management have worked together in the sector for 21 years and previously built one of the largest independent renewable businesses in Europe with 1,100MW of wind and 100MW of hydro across Portugal, France and Spain.

The business was previously owned for three years by a global alternative asset manager who sold the majority of the assets to a third party in late 2008. The Enersis management team, backed by HNW and institutional co-investors, acquired a number of the new Portuguese assets as well as the ‘Enersis’ name.

The new Enersis currently owns 138.1MW of wind capacity in Portugal, almost all of which is in operation or construction, in addition to other regional hydro and other renewable holdings. Enersis now employs around 50 people and has reconstructed not only its staff but also its long-standing business model of being an integrated owner, operator and developer.
